What each braid style is
Names for braids can mean slightly different things in different salons, so here is what they generally mean. Bring a photo of the exact look you want so we can confirm it before you book.
- Straight back. Cornrows braided straight back from the front hairline. A classic, neat style. The boho version adds loose curly strands for a softer look.
- Knotless braids. Braids that start from the root without a knot, with extension hair added gradually. They generally sit flatter and feel lighter at the scalp than knotted braids.
- French curls. Braids finished with curly ends, a popular choice when you want something more dressed up.
- Tribal braids. A more decorative braided style. Because patterns vary a lot, show us a photo of the version you want.
- Sew-in. Hair is sewn onto a braided base. It costs R450 with our hairpiece and R300 if you bring your own.
- Freehand. Cornrow styles done freehand, from simple lines to designed patterns, priced by how detailed they are.

How to prepare for braiding and keep your style
- Choose your style and length. Check the price list and save a photo of the look you want.
- Book your appointment. Use our booking page, or WhatsApp us on 075 407 1774. Bookings made by WhatsApp or phone call need a R100 commitment fee.
- Think about your hair beforehand. If you would like your hair washed before braiding, add a braid wash (R100) to your booking.
- Plan for a long appointment. Longer styles take longer than short ones. Ask us for a time estimate when you book, and bring water, a snack and a charger.
- Look after your style. Keep your scalp lightly moisturised, wrap your hair in a satin scarf or bonnet at night, and avoid heavy product build-up. Ask us how long your style should stay in.
